Loving NYC, but missing TX...

Who would have ever thought I would actually make my way to NYC (<3 this city!!!)... and then really really really miss Texas.

Lots of distractions here in the city, but it does get lonely at times.  NYC is definitely a whirlwind that I've gotten caught up in.  Bright lights, fashion trends, dinner where you easily drop lots of $$$.  The city that never sleeps.  Mainly because the people never sleep.  I know I haven't been sleeping as much.  Sundays are no longer my lazy days, they're my crash days.  Wasteful they are, but wonderful too.

I guess a mini picture update is appropriate, so here goes...

Sunset over the Hudson from my apartment window.  (No interior apartment pictures because that's a violation of my privacy law.  You only get to see if you come visit.  ^_^)

JKo and I with our Horns up.  An orange and white Empire State Building.  Beautiful!  Hook'em Horns!!!  \m/ \m/

Halloween 2009.  JKo::General Tso's Chicken.  Me::Oompa Loompa Doopity Doo.

I think that's enough pics for now.  More to come when some ladies from TX visit!

I <3 Texas

Well, it looks like I'll be leaving my Texas origins soon...  It's been great Texas.  I will actually miss all the Southern-ish things.

For all of you out there that I haven't chatted with in a while, I hope you're well and being safe.  You never can be too safe.

Cheers.

P. S.  10 yr HS reunion was actually not too bad.  It was definitely interesting seeing a lot of people after such a long time.

I am so freaking excited...  My parents have decided to retire in Austin, TX and bought a house there yesterday!!!  The view from the back patio will be so awesome.  I can't wait to enjoy a glass of red while taking in the canyon view and Lake Austin.  The house will be finished by the start of 2010 so it'll be perfect and ready to go by the time spring rolls around.  Can't wait!  Their house will be only one stop light away from The Oasis.  Woo hoo.  I can finally call Austin, TX home sweet home.

Texas Texas Yee Hawww!!!  Hook'em Horns!    \m/ \m/

Another year almost over...  Hard to believe.  It seems like every year passes at a faster speed than the year before.  Is this why old people are depressed?  Because their lives passed by too quickly???  I swear it took forever for my bday to roll around each year when I was younger.  I hope that everyone I'm still in touch with or have lost touch with are doing well.

Nothing really to report here on my end.  Just trucking along.  Perhaps making life altering decisions soon...

It seems like I'm the only one that hasn't joined Facebook or Twitter.  I stand firm in my boycott against both.  After being on MySpace, the novelty of being found by people started to get annoying and it just seemed like too much of my life was plastered for anyone on the www to peruse through.  I guess I should have made my account "Private" but the idea of shutting it down seemed more appealing.  Not sure why I ended up keeping Xanga.  I guess because it seems pretty safe to me since it's sooo old and no one probably goes through it anymore.  Nice for me because then I can have random ramblings posted and the chances of someone reading it are slim to none.    Perfect if you ask me.

Summer just isn't the same as it used to be like back in the day when you were a kid in school.  Three months off.  It doesn't get any better than that.  Kool-Aid Bursts/Sunny D and all kinds of snacks that you brought with you to the pool everyday...  To be a kid again.  Now the mere mention of a Summer sounds so foreign.  You really do forget how it felt to have one.  Sad.  At least the good thing now is that I can actually afford to pay for my own trips when I want instead of having to wait for the once a year family trips that mom and dad planned.  I think I've been traveling a little too much though and I'm not even a consultant.  Since May 1st, NYC twice, Chicago once, Boston once, Austin twice.  I forgot how nice a lazy Sunday was.  I think I really need a REAL vacation soon though.  One that involves a hammock on the beach with white sands and crystal blue waters.  Ahhh.  That sounds so nice right now...

Time to wrap it up.  I hope you all have a great upcoming weekend.  We'll see if my postings end up being more frequent...  Haha.

P. S. How many of you actually went to your High School reunion?  My 10 year reunion is next month and at first I really wanted to go to it, but as it draws near, I've been having second thoughts.  Is it fun or worth it to go and see everyone?  I thought it would be but not sure now...

So I talked about my return to the neutral grounds of Xanga but never posted...  I guess I'm just too used to not needing to update anything online.  I guess any return is as good as a photo filled return, so here goes.

DSC02863
One of my fave pics.  Mon, me, and Anny the singing machine.

DSC02965
Me and my Jay.

DSC03028
Climbing the Great Wall of China.  It's no joke people.  I don't even think I was climbing the hardest part...

DSC03219
Hong Kong skyline during the day.  I wanted to include other pics from my whole China trip, but there's just too much to show.  Other notable place I visited was Xi'an where the Terracotta Warriors reside.

DSC03410
The most recent trip back to Austin with the ladies.

DSC03494
Same recent Austin trip with my THF.

DSC03496
Goofing off...  Can't you tell it's the end of the night for everyone?  We're all sitting down.  Haha.  Tired and ready to go home!

DSC03577
Halloween 2008 with Elaine and Natalia.

And that concludes my photo update.  Life is pretty calm right now.  I can't complain.  Hope all is well with you all out there.    Cheers.
